Know These New Rules of PM Kisan Yojana


12th instalment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme to all land-holding farmer families. For the unversed, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme is a Central scheme with 100 per cent funding from the central government. Under the scheme, income support of 6,000 per year in three equal
instalments is being provided to small and marginal farmer families having combined land holding/ownership of up to 2 hectares. 

If both husband and wife apply under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, will they get benefits?

Can Husband, Wife Together Take Benefit of PM Kisan?

The answer is no. If both the husband and the wife apply for PM Kisan, both can't get Rs 6,000 benefit each as the financial aid is for the entire family.

How many members in a family can claim PM Kisan benefit?

As per the rule of the scheme, only one member of the family can get its benefit and not both husband and wife.

Who are eligible to get benefits under the Scheme?

All landholding farmers' families, which have cultivable landholding in their names are eligible to get benefit under the scheme

Will any individual or farmer family owning more than 2 hectare of cultivable land get any benefit under the scheme?

Yes. The ambit of the scheme has been extended to cover all farmer families, irrespective of the size of their land holdings.

Is an income tax payee farmer or his / her spouse eligible to get benefit under the scheme?

No. if a member of the family is an income tax payee in the last assessment year, then the family is not eligible for benefit under the scheme

Who are eligible beneficiaries?

-Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, only those farmers who have 5 acres of cultivable cultivation get its benefit. -A person whose farmland is not registered under his/her name is ineligible for the scheme. -The scheme cannot be availed if the land is registered under the name of the person’s father or grandfather. -The scheme will be declared invalid for owners of farmlands who are government employees. -Doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants are ineligible for the scheme.
