Udyog Aadhaar - Do this to avail subsidies and more

Udyog Aadhaar Registration: In a bid to give a boost to small businesses  i.e. SMEs and MSMEs in the nation, the Government of India has initiated the Udyog Aadhaar Registration process. Earlier, if you wished to start a business
and get SSI Registration or MSME registration, you needed to go through a lot of paperwork. Now, you need to fill only 2 forms: Entrepreneur Memorandum-I and Entrepreneur Memorandum-II instead of 11 different types of forms that were required earlier. The Udyog Aadhar Registration is a completely online process, which is totally free of cost. Industries registered with Udyog Aadhar become entitled to receive the benefits of several government schemes such as subsidies, easy loan approvals etc.

Speaking on the benefits of Udyog Aadhaar registration Rajiv Chawla, Chairman, IamSMEofIndia said, "The Government of India is running various welfare and subsidy schemes meant for the SMEs and MSMEs. Now after the Udyog Aadhaar registration, the unit becomes eligible for availing those benefits. Those, who don't do this, their unit won't be eligible to claim those subsidies and welfare benefits."

On benefits that a unit owner would get once he or she does the Udyog Aadhaar registration Rajiv Chawla of IamSMEofIndia said,"After registering their unit either SME or MSME, the applicant will receive the benefits of all the government schemes such as an easy loan, loan without guarantee,  loans with subsidized rates of interest etc. Apart from this, the unit would become eligible to apply for government micro business loans and other such related beneficial schemes." He said that it takes mere 3-4 minutes for Udyog Aadhaar registration through a simple click at the UIDAI's official website uidai.gov.in. He said that a unit owner can click at msme.gov.in also to register one's unit in Udyog Aadhaar memorandum.

1] The SME owner needs to fill a one-page form that he can do either online or offline. For online registration, the applicant should visit the official website msme.gov.in;

2]If someone wishes to register for more than one industry then they should opt for individual registration;

3] In this form, the MSME has to self-certify its existence, details of the business activity, bank account, ownership and employment details and other information;

4] Here, during this registration process, the individual needs to provide his self-certified certificates;

5] No registration fees are required to be paid for this process; and

6] After filling the details and uploading the same, the registration number would be generated and the same would be mailed to the email address given in the UAM which should contain unique UAN (Udyog Aadhaar Number).
