Here's how to can connect with RailWire WiFi at stations

Indian Railways has been working to provide free Wi-Fi broadband facility to rail users at major railway stations. RailTel has roped in Google as the technology partner for setting up a fast Wi-Fi network initially covering 400 stations for providing
fast Wi-Fi to millions of passengers every day.

It may be noted that Wi-Fi services to passengers are being provided under ‘Railwire’, the retail Broadband distribution model of RailTel. Railwire Wi-Fi is available to any user who has a working mobile connection on a smartphone. Around 800 stations in the country offer free high-speed wireless internet service right now. More stations are being added to the network.

Here's how you can connect to RailWire WiFi at railway stations

Step 1: Go to Wi-Fi settings on your smartphone and select RailWire network.

Step 2: Open railwire.co.in.

Step 3: Enter your phone number and press 'RECEIVE SMS'.

Step 4: Enter the four-digit OTP you received through the SMS.

Step 5: Press 'Done' and you will be able to access the internet.

Worth mentioning here is that railway minister Piyush Goyal is keen to provide free WiFi facility at all railway stations as soon as possible as he believes that it has benefited the commuters immensely. Railways is aiming to provide free WiFi at about 2,000 stations soon. The national transporter has also roped in Tata Trusts for this project. As part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR), Tata Trusts will provide free WiFi at 4,000 stations soon.
