CBSE new Syllabus for Classes 10th, 12th released, these are discontinued - Know details


Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE Board Exam 2022 curriculum released for Class 10, 12 students. The revised syllabus has seen further cuts this year for major subjects, with the board deciding to keep the amount of chapters limited for this year as well. Apart from this,
CBSE syllabus is not divided into terms, hinting the reversal of term wise board exam and the return of single board examination in March.

CBSE Class 10, 12 Revised Syllabus for Board Examinations 2022-23 is now available on the official website cbseacademic.nic.in. While detailed report is awaited on the actual cuts, the teachers have now shared that a few chapters and units have been removed while some have been added back. Overall, however, the 30 per cent cut is maintained by the board.

CBSE Board Exams 2023 to be conducted only once, no term wise split

As for the term wise syllabus, as earlier hinted by the board, the two terms were a stop gap arrangement. While no official statement has been shared by the board as yet, the revised curriculum is again set in the single examination pattern.

It may be noted that for 2021-22 examination, CBSE Board Exam curriculum was split down the middle – 50 per cent in Term 1 and remaining 50 per cent in Term 2. This year, however, the curriculum released has no such division. Official circular on CBSE 10th 12th Board Exam 2022-23 is still awaited.

Students and parents are advised to wait for the official circular. While it is evident from the curriculum that the single annual exams are making a comeback, it would be advisable to await the official notice from the board.
