Banks will remain closed for these days in the month of March


Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issues a list of holidays for the banks in different cities. The central bank of the country grants holidays to the banks under three categories. They are Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

Banks will remain closed in the month of March:

On March 1, 2022, the banks will remain closed in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyd, erabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram, on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

On March 3, 2022, the banks will remain closed in Gangtok on the occasion of Losar.

On March 4, 2022, the banks will remain closed in Aizawl on the occasion of Chapchar Kut.

On March 17, 2022, the banks will remain closed in Dehradun, Kanpur, Lucknow and Ranchi, on the occasion of Holika Dahan.

On March 18, 2022, the banks will remain closed in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla and Srinagar, on the occasion of Holi/Holi 2nd Day/Dhuleti/Doljatra.

On March 19, 2022, the banks will remain closed in Bhubaneswar, Imphal and Patna on the occasion of Holi/Yaosang 2nd Day.

On March 22, 2022, the banks will remain closed in Patna on the occasion of Bihar Divas.

Apart from the above-mentioned holidays, the banks will also remain closed on March 12, 2022 and March 26, 2022 due to second and fourth Saturdays. The banks will also remain closed on March 6, 13, 20 and 27 because of Sundays.
