Aadhaar can now be updated at CSC

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has permitted Common Service Centres (CSCs), a special purpose vehicle under the Ministry of Information Technology and Electronics with designated banking correspondents, to offer the facility to update Aadhar card at around 20,000 centres. People can also access Aadhaar-related services at bank branches, post offices and other centres at government premises authorised by UIDAI.

Aadhar is a 12-digit unique identity number that residents in India can obtain voluntarily based on their biometric (fingerprints, iris scans and a facial photograph) and demographic (date of birth, name, gender, address) data. Aadhar card or e-Aadhar card is a valid proof of identity.
