BSNL Bharat Fiber broadband plans heavily revised

BSNL has revised its Bharat Fiber broadband plans in anticipation of the Jio GigaFiber's appealing pricing strategies. BSNL has currently revised only two plans of the Bharat Fiber service and in both the plans, change has been made to the
prices of the plans. However, in terms of benefits, subscribers are going to get more than before. This was first reported by Telecom Talk.

The first plan costs Rs 777 and so far has been offering 500GB per month. However, the revision has now given a data allocation of 600GB data per month and the monthly rental charge has been raised to Rs 849 per month. On top of that, the allocated speeds have been retained at 50Mbps but once the data limit is exhausted, the speed goes down to 2Mbps. Subscribers are also getting unlimited calls.

The second plan has been offering 50GB data per month so far but now, the revision will offer up to 55GB data per month. This plan will offer data speeds of 100Mbps and after the limit is exhausted, the speed goes down to 4Mbps. The price of the plan has also been increased from Rs 3,999 to Rs 4,499. Also, subscribers are getting unlimited calls.

With these plans, BSNL is trying to draw in more customers to its Bharat Fiber service. BSNL has been in a tough spot lately due to tricky financial conditions that have forced the telecom operator to seek help from the government for more funds.

Despite the higher benefits, Jio GigaFiber's rumored prices and services are much cheaper than what BSNl offers. The leaks have suggested that for Rs 600 per month, GigaFiber will offer 100GB data per month at speeds of 50Mbps. Along with that, subscribers are expected to get unlimited calling via Jio's landline service and a complimentary Jio Home TV subscription offering 600 TV channels in the package.
