Idea rolls out Rs 189 plan, gives 2GB data

Idea Cellular has rolled out a new plan for its postpaid users. The company has introduced Rs 189 plan and it is quite similar to the Vodafone plan of Rs 189.

This teleco's Rs 189 plan offers unlimited local and
STD calling, 100 SMS per day with 2GB data. The plan comes with the validity of 56 days. It is interesting to note that the company is offering 2GB data for the entire period of 56 days. Also, the telco has not set any FUP limit for the data, this means that you can either use the complete data in one day to in 56 days as per your need. Apart from this, the telco has also set a daily FUP limit for calling. This means that the users who opt for Rs 189 plan, will be allowed to make calls of up to 250 minutes daily and 1,000 minutes weekly. In case the users exhaust this limit then they will be charged for the extra calls made.

Also as reported by Telecom Talk, Idea Cellular has also removed the talk time recharge plans from its product portfolio and presently, it is giving only three talktime plans of Rs 10, Rs 1,000 and Rs 5,000.

The Rs 189 plan of Idea Cellular will compete against the Rs 149 plan of Reliance Jio and Rs 199 plan of Airtel. The Mukesh Ambani-owned telecom operator offers unlimited calling, with 100 SMS and 2GB total data under Rs 149 plan. The plan offers the validity of 28 days which is less as compared to the Rs 189 plan of Idea Cellular.

On the other hand, Airtel’s plan of Rs 199 offers 1.4GB data per day with 100 SMS and unlimited local and STD calling. The plan comes with the validity of 28 days, which is again less as compared to that of Idea Cellular.
