JioPhone users may soon get YouTube, Maps and more..

Reliance Jio's JioPhone are said to receive Google services such as Google Assistant, Google Maps, YouTube, and Google Search.

Coming to the details, JioPhone runs on US-based company named KaiOS Technologies called KaiOS and now they are teaming up with Google. The firm has received a $22 million Series A investment from internet search giant Google "to help bring the internet to the next generation of users."

KaiOS is a web-based platform that uses open standards such as HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS. Sebastien Codeville, CEO of KaiOS Technologies said " This funding will help us fast-track development and global deployment of KaiOS-enabled smart feature phones, allowing us to connect the vast population that still cannot access the internet, especially in emerging markets"

Anjali Joshi, vice president, Product Management, Next Billion Users says " Following the success of the JioPhones, we are excited to work with KaiOS to further improve access to information for feature phone users around the world,"
