Whatsapp for sometime had been testing the update to Android app, on allowing you to back up the WhatsApp Messages, Photos And Videos to the Google Drive.

now officially announced the Backup feature. , “Starting today, WhatsApp for Android lets you create a private backup of your chat history, voice messages, photos, and videos in Google Drive. And once you do, you can restore everything on a new device with just a couple taps,” he wrote on his blogpost.

He further added, “The new backup feature is rolling out over the next few months, so keep an eye on your WhatsApp settings to see if it’s available.”

The earlier reports informed that the WhatsApp backup feature will arrive with the later version 2.12.45 for Android. It also could be downloaded from the company’s official website.

Connect to your Gmail account linked with Google Drive to your WhatsApp account. Choose the option to take a backup to Google Drive in the chat ‘Settings’ tab in the New update.
