How to access your Post Office savings account via Mobile

With the introduction of the IPPB mobile app, Indian Posts Payments Bank has made it convenient for the investors to access their post office savings account. This app is available for both Android and iOS users. It may be
noted that this app can be used by those customers who have an account in core banking enabled by the post office. 

Among other pre-requisites, the Know Your Customer (KYC) of the account holder must be complete and account should have internet banking and mobile banking services activated. In case, these are not enabled, then you will need to fill up a form and submit it in the post office to get them activated.

How to apply for mobile banking facility-

1. Eligible post office savings account holder can apply for the facility at ant CBS head/sub-post office but not in branch offices.

2. The account holder will have to submit the duly filled form (post office savings bank (POSB) ATM card, internet, mobile or SMS banking service request form) available with the post office.

3. The KYC of the account holder should be completed. If it is not completed then you might have to undergo the KYC process at the time of submitting your request form.

4. Once the form is submitted at the branch, your mobile banking facility will be enabled after 24 hours. You can download the India Post Mobile Banking app from the Google Play store. Your CIF ID will be user ID and your transaction password will be the password set through internet banking facility.

After activation, an existing customer can use the app to access his or her login details and a one-time password (OTP). Once authentication is complete, the customer can set a four-digit MPIN (mobile PIN) to login to the app and access the account. However, a new customer can open a post office savings bank account using the app. One needs to click on ‘Open your account now’ tab and enter the mobile number and PAN. An OTP will be sent for verification. Upon entering OTP, the customer will have to enter the Aadhaar number and accept the conditions for Aadhaar authentication. He or she can then go on to follow the on-screen instructions to be able to open the account.
