How you can link to IRCTC loyalty account scheme

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) provides the facility of loyalty account under which a person can avail an IRCTC-SBI co-branded credit card. The IRCTC-SBI co-branded credit card has several benefits
including up to 10 per cent cashback on the AC class ticket fares in form of SBI card travel reward points, waiver of payment gateway charges and a couple of other travel, dining, hotel booking, online shopping offers.

Typically, IRCTC levies a charge of 1.8 per cent (exclusive of GST) for payment gateway for all the train ticket bookings done via IRCTC e-ticketing website. According to IRCTC, SBI co-branded credit card programme benefits are available only on railway tickets booked at www.irctc.co.in and the scheme is valid for normal users only. SBI card travel reward points are only awarded for individual loyalty member’s fare tickets and are not awarded on voucher transactions, IRCTC said. 

A person can earn SBI credit card travel reward points on 1st class AC, 2nd class AC, 3rd class AC, executive chair car and AC chair car travel only and there is no provision of SBI card travel reward points on 3E and SL class tickets bookings. A person is mandatorily required to be one of the passengers on the ticket to earn SBI card travel reward points. An individual is required to pay a fee of Rs 500 for first-year membership (one time) and Rs 300 as annual renewal fee (excluding taxes & transaction charges) to avail an IRCTC-SBI co-branded credit card.

Users can easily link their respective IRCTC account with the loyalty card by logging into the IRCTC account. For this, you can select the ‘Add Loyalty Account’ option under the ‘Loyalty’ tab on the homepage. Enter the 11-digit loyalty number printed on the IRCTC-SBI credit card and click on ‘Send OTP’ button on the next screen. Enter the OTP received on the IRCTC registered mobile number and click on ‘Add Loyalty Account’ button.
