State Bank of India provides 5 ways to link Aadhaar with bank A/C

State Bank of India (SBI) allows the users to link the SBI account with the UIDAI-issued Aadhaar card with as many as five ways. However, there is no mandate to link the Aadhaar card with the bank account but, Aadhaar is compulsory for availing
government-aided subsidies and to take the benefit of several other state-run programs. According to SBI, a user willing to link the Aadhaar card can proceed further with either of the options from SBI corporate website, SBI net banking portal, SBI anywhere application, SBI ATM and SBI branch.

Five ways to link Aadhaar with SBI A/C

1. Aadhaar-bank account linking via SBI corporate website 

Users can click on the option ‘Link your AADHAAR Number with your bank account’ given on the homepage of SBI corporate website, www.sbi.co.in. The bank will advise the person about the status of Aadhaar linking with SBI account on the registered mobile number of the user. 

2. Aadhaar-bank account linking via SBI net banking portal

You can navigate to ‘Link your Aadhaar number’ under ‘My Accounts’, appearing on the left panel of the screen after logging into SBI net banking portal, www.onlinesbi.com. After this, just select the account number, enter the Aadhaar number and click on submit. 

3. Aadhaar-bank account linking via SBI anywhere application 

After logging into the SBI anywhere application, the user is required to click on ‘Requests’ -- ‘Aadhaar’ -- ‘Aadhaar linking’. Select the CIF from the drop-down list and enter your Aadhaar number. Select T&C and submit.

4. Aadhaar-bank account linking via SBI ATM 

Swipe the SBI ATM-cum-debit card at an SBI ATM and enter the PIN. Select the menu ‘Service -- Registrations’ and select Aadhaar Registration & account type from savings or current. Enter the Aadhaar number and verify the same again. 

5. Aadhaar-bank account linking via SBI branch 

The users who are not able to link the Aadhaar card with the SBI account by any of the aforementioned methods can do so by physically visiting the bank branch. For this, you have to carry of the Aadhaar number or e-Aadhaar, whichever is available. Fill the ‘Letter of Request’ for linking the Aadhaar card with the SBI account and submit the form along with a xerox copy of the Aadhaar letter. The SBI account will be linked with the Aadhaar card after successful verification by the branch. The users will be notified by SMS on a mobile number registered with the bank records.
