What if the password has been changed :-
- This is the most basic form of hacking and is done by changing the password so that the main user is unable to access it. Don't worry if your password has been changed. Here are steps to recover your account.
- Get your associated email details of the account then go to the “forgot password” option found at the facebook login page.
- You will be taken to another page and will be asked to enter either your username, email address or phone number.
- Facebook will get your profile, click or tap on your specific profile and then enter either the email address or mobile number connected to the account and click on “continue”.
- A recovery code or OTP will be sent to your chosen recovery mode. Use that code and click continue.
- Now reset your new password and you will be able to login to your account again.
What if you have no access to the email/email account also hacked :-
- Click/Tap on the forgot password option.
- Allow Facebook to look for your profile by entering your username or email address associated with it.
- Once located by Facebook, click on your profile and a box will open to reset your password.
- Now click on “no longer have access to these” considering your associated email address has been hacked.
- Then Facebook will provide you with more recovery options and depending on the age of the facebook account, you may get the option of Security question to recover your account.
- Facebook users who are new can also use the option of “trusted contacts” to get access to their account. Enter the email address that you have access to, and then click on reveal my trusted contacts and enter the name of one of them.
- Facebook will provide you with a link which only your trusted contact can access. Ask the contact to click on the link and you will get the security code for you. Use the security code to get your account back.
