WhatsApp privacy and invite setting can help you

WhatsApp introduced a new setting in group chat which ensures more control over the constant messages you receive. WhatsApp's new privacy setting and invite system helps users decide who can add you to groups.
How to set it :-
  1. Go to Settings in your app, then tap Account > Privacy > Groups.
  2. Three options will be available such as "Nobody", "My Contacts", or "Everyone". Select anyone.

As per WhatsApp, Nobody option would mean you will have to approve before anyone adds you in a group. My Contacts option suggest that only users you have in your address book can add you to groups. While 'Everyone' option was the normal and meant anyone can add you in a group if they have your number.

With the new features, the person adding you to a group will be prompted to send a private invite through an individual chat, giving you the choice of joining the group. You'll have three days to accept the invite before it expires.

Hence, a user will have more control over the group messages they receive.

With group chats, you can share messages, photos, and videos with up to 256 people at once. You can also name your group, mute or customize notifications, and more.
