How to update current address in Aadhaar online

A person having a validated mobile number with the Aadhaar card can update the current address on Aadhaar card with the online Aadhaar card update facility. The validated mobile number should be active as the Unique Identification Authority of India
(UIDAI) will send OTP for verification purposes. 

A person willing to update the current address on the Aadhaar card can do so by visiting the UIDAI website. In order to update the current address on the Aadhaar card, an individual is required to apply with the Aadhaar Validation Letter. Aadhaar Validation Letter is a new offering provided by UIDAI which allows a user to update the current address without submitting a valid address proof. 

To update the current residential address in the Aadhaar card, an applicant has to apply for Aadhaar Validation Letter and forward it to the verifier for the approval. Upon the successful approval by the verifier, a person can submit the Aadhaar Validation Letter. Other details such as the name of the person, mobile number, email id and gender can be updated, changed or corrected on the Aadhaar card only by visiting the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or verified Aadhaar Update Centre.

How to update the current residential address in Aadhaar card

Step 1: Visit the UIDAI website, https://uidai.gov.in/
Step 2: Scroll down to navigate ‘Update Aadhaar’ section.
Step 3: Click on ‘update your address online’.
Step 4: Click on ‘Request for Address Validation Letter’.
Step 5: Enter Aadhaar number and text verification.
Step 6: Click on send One-Time Password (OTP) on the registered mobile number.
Step 7: Enter ‘Address Verifier Aadhaar’ and submit.
Step 8: Enter the SRN after opening the link received on message.
Step 9: Enter the contact details such as house number, street, area, pin code, city, district, state, etc. 
Step 10: Click on ‘Submit Update Request’.
