IRCTC iPay to provide better digital experience, digital payment convenience

With the launch of its exclusive digital payment gateway, IRCTC aims to offer better digital experience to customers. IRCTC iPay will also provide an improved digital payment convenience to railway passengers availing travel-related services online through its portal, according to a statement by IRCTC.

Passengers will not need any third-party platforms: IRCTC

"With the launch of IRCTC iPay, the passengers will not need any third-party platforms. IRCTC iPay provides payment options like credit card, debit card, unified payment interface, international card," IRCTC said in a statement.

The option for making payments through IRCTC's prepaid card-cum-wallet as well as the auto debit feature will also be made available soon on the payment platform.

iPay promises to be passenger-friendly, easy to use, reliable, faster

The e-ticketing arm of the Indian Railways also said iPay promises to be "passenger friendly, easy to use, reliable, and faster". IRCTC is a subsidiary of the Railways and handles the catering, tourism, and online ticketing operations of the national transporter.

Will have full control of the payment system, says IRCTC

The IRCTC also said that under this new arrangement, it will have full control over the payment system.

"IRCTC will have full control of the payment system because of its direct relationship with acquiring banks, card networks, and other partners," it said.

"This will help reduce the gap between IRCTC and banks which will eventually lead to substantial reduction in payment failures," it added.
