Wi-Fi Technology now gets a security update after 10 years

For the last 10 Years, Wi-Fi network has been using the same WP2 security protocol and now introducing certifications for the new WP3 security protocol.

Wi-Fi devices will now
offer WP3 security protocol which makes it harder for hackers to guess your Wi-Fi password. WPA3 protocol adds new features to simplify Wi-Fi security and delivers increased cryptographic strength. The introduction WP3 doesn’t mean that your old Wi-Fi devices will stop working. The older WPA2 protocol-based devices will continue to interoperate. The WPA3 security comes in two forms--WPA3-Personal and WPA3-Enterprise.

Edgar Figueroa, President and CEO, Wi-Fi Alliance in a press statement said " WPA3 takes the lead in providing the industry’s strongest protections in the ever-changing security landscape. WPA3 continues the evolution of Wi-Fi security and maintains the brand promise of Wi-Fi Protected Access,"

Wi-Fi Easy Connect enables users to securely add any device to a Wi-Fi network using another device like a smartphone by simply scanning a product quick response (QR) code.
