IRCTC brings up new feature of 'Pay on Delivery' for Tatkal Tickets


IRCTC payment terms are soon going to be hassle free as its payment provider Anduril Technologies PVT LTD has now announced a new payment methord "Pay On Delivery".

With this new feature IRCTC users can book tickets under Tatkal quota for their required Train journeys and pay them later. Anduril Technologies has said that users of IRCTC can opt for an option where tickets will be delivered to their doorstep and pay for it via cash or credit card or debit card which will take off long ques at the booking centers.

Earlier this service was only for general reservations and now it has been included for Tatkal tickets too. With Pay On Delivery feature users can book their tickets in few seconds and even can get confirmed ticket under Tatkal quota. It can be noted that above 1.30 lakh Tatkal tickets are reserved by IRCTC daily. 

Users will have now to pay only for the tickets which are booked on Tatkal. With this feature Train Travellers will get benefited under Tatkal quota. 

How to Book a Ticket under Tatkal quota on Book now, Pay Later feature :- 

1. Register at irctc.payondelivery.co.in to avail IRCTC’s ‘pay on delivery’  feature

2. Give details of one's Aadhaar or PAN while registering on the website

3. At the time of booking, Users should opt for 'pay-on-delivery' option  

4. Once confirmed, Users will get an Digital Delivery of Rail Ticket via SMS/email

5. Collection of Ticket will happen in 24 Hours time period. 

Users can pay Online at the time of delivery of their tickets via a payment link sent to their mail or SMS...

  1. If I book a takkal ticket from Delhi while traveling in Delhi while I live in Kolkata how can I get the ticket if it is delivered in my home address in Kolkata.
    Is the digitally delivered ticket sufficient for traveling?
