Sony announces Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update to devices

After Nexus, Motorola and LG, Sony has now announced its plans of Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout Update for its devices. The latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS has begun rolling out to Google Nexus devices, and Sony has listed its devices on the update.

The Japanese tech firm has announced
that the latest Android M will roll out to Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua, and Xperia C4 devices. The dual-sim versions of these devices will also be included.

However, the company has not revealed the specific time-frame or the date for the rollout. Sony says that it is yet working on the possibility of the Android M for the eligible devices. The list reveals that Sony is leaving aside the Xperia Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z Ultra series from the roll out, and these phones would not be receiving any more update than Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Earlier, HTC has announced that its devices include HTC One M9, One M8, HTC One M9+, HTC One E9, HTC One E9+, HTC One ME, HTC One (E8), HTC One (M8 Eye), Butterfly 3, HTC Desire 816, Desire 820, and Desire 826 will be receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

For Motorola, Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will roll on to the devices like Moto G (Gen 2), Moto G (Gen 2) LTE, Moto X (Gen 2), Moto X Pure Edition, Moto G (3rd Gen), Moto Maxx, Moto Turbo, Droid Turbo, Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, and Google Nexus 6

Meanwhile, Google on Monday has unveiled the latest version of the Android M OS for the Nexus devices including Nexus 6, Nexus 5, Nexus 9, Nexus 9 LTE, Nexus 7(2013), Nexus 7 (2013) 3G, and Nexus Player
