Samsung launches Galaxy Tab S2, Priced Rs 39,400

Korean Giant Samsung on Wednesday launched its Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 LTE model in India. The tablet priced Rs 39,400, is available in Gold, Black, and White colour variants and has gone on sale from Wednesday in retail outlets across the country

Samsung calls the Galaxy tab S2 as the world's slimmest tablet, with a 5.6mm thickness, featuring 9.7-inch 2,048x1,563-pixel display resolution Super Amoled display, powered by octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM. The device runs on the latest version of Android, 5.1 Lollipop, and the 5,870mAh battery is a good size, rated to deliver up to 12 hours of talk time. The 4G enabled tablet in terms of storage comes with 32GB internal storage, but the microSD card slot is expandable up to 128 GB.

The voice-calling tablet also packs an 8-megapixel rear camera as well as a 2.1-megapixel front-facing sensor for video chat and selfies. Samsung also teamed up with Airtel network offering 4G network of free 2G internet data for two months, along with the select apps which are free to download.

The Galaxy tablet S2 supports both LTE bands in India (1800MHz Band 3 and 2300MHz Band 40). The connectivity options include 2G/ 3G, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1 BLE, GPS, GLONASS and Micro-USB. Sensors featured are accelerometer, fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, compass, hall sensor, and RGB sensor. The smart device measures 169x237.3x5.6mm, weighs 392 grams.
