It lets you choose the the exact size of the free space before and after the partition and thus editing a partition's size is easy. The partition can be formatted in the following file system formats EXT2/3/4, NTFS, FAT16/32, and XFS. GParted also lets you complete the tasks quickly. The disadvantage is that it doesn't list all the available partitions on one screen like most other free disk partitioning programs. You need to open every disc separately from a drop down menu to look in to it.
